Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

RankedSports (rankedsports.fit) is a free tournament management tool. We are not a company — this is an independent project. Questions can be sent via the feedback widget on any page.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to operate the service:

• Tournament data — names, sport, format, scores, and team names you enter. This is stored in our database to run your tournament.
• Auth cookies — when you enter a tournament PIN, we set anhttpOnly cookie (admin_[tournamentId]) so you stay logged in for 30 days. This cookie is never accessible to JavaScript and is not used for tracking.
• Feedback submissions — if you submit feedback, we store the message type, message text, and optionally your email address if you choose to provide it.

We do not collect: names, email addresses during sign-up (there is no sign-up), payment information, or device identifiers.

3. Cookies

We use one type of cookie: a session cookie set after PIN authentication. It is strictly necessary for the service to function and does not track you across sites. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies on our own.

Google AdSense ads (where displayed) may set their own cookies governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. How we use your data

• To display and manage your tournament brackets and schedules.
• To authenticate tournament organizers via PIN.
• To respond to feedback you submit (if you included an email).

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data retention

Tournament data is retained indefinitely unless you delete it. Draft tournaments with no activity for 90+ days are automatically deleted. You can delete your tournament and all associated data at any time from the manage page.

6. Third-party services

• Neon — our database host. Data is stored on Neon's PostgreSQL infrastructure.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Handles HTTP requests and deployment.
• Google AdSense — may display ads and set cookies per Google's own privacy policy.

7. Your rights

You can request deletion of any tournament you created (you need the PIN). For any other data requests, contact us via the feedback widget.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.
